Working on v0.3


In this post we are going to talk to you about what features are planned for Yllah v0.3. Keep in mind that some of these features are still work in progress and might be revamped or deleted. All the team did not approve everything related to gameplay and game design choices.

- Usage of FMOD : This will allow better integration and manipulation of sounds and music for the sound designer, the composer. and the developper.

- Gamepad Support : Yllah is now fully playable with a gamepad thanks to the new Unity Input System. Therefore, it was only tested with a PS4 Controller. We need further tests with others Gamepad (Xbox GamePad for example)

- Auto-step up : It might be tedious for players to travel in the world of Yllah. Since it is mainly created from cubes, "natural stairs" can now be walkable without the need to explicitly jump.

- Local based color system : In Yllah, when the player discovers a gifter and gets the gift of a color, it changes how the player sees the world. It was designed at first with a post-processing effect. But since it is a global effect, we could not create several areas with each one his own color scheme. So we removed the post processing effect and applied the gift effect on material dedicated to the area.

Now, we can create any areas as we want with different color schemes.

We also created an internal tool that gives all the team the ability to try different color schemes and help us decide the final color scheme for an area.


- More jump animations for the main character : Now, when jumping and if running, it has 10% chance of triggering a different jump animation.

- More visual feedbacks when a gifter is discovered and now gift particles moving towards player now leaves a visual feedback when reaching destination.


- Water and Waterfalls : self explanatory

- First area (Work in progress) : Dream Forest (FR : La forêt des songes) /!\ Name, Concept, Lore, Fauna & Flora and Color Scheme are undecided /!\
